Rotate those clamps, so that the quick release handles point OUT instead of UP
then capture tray straps under quick releases:
- no bolts true frame holes
- loosening quick releases enable sliding clamps

I like the fact my Apex folds up. Working on the fabing a seat frame that will attach to the office chair tray with a quick release for storage.

It’s assembled incorrectly. The u clamp for the chair link need to be rotated so the opening is up top. The quick release is so you can adjust the distance of the tray without tools.

I use the NLR wheel stand and I really have zero complaints. I only use an 8nm wheel on it, but I've never pressed my chair out of the chair trough, and its more shallow then the GTO. You look rather tall, those pedals look a tad close which gives you so much more leverage to push out if you push too hard on the brakes. Also the pulling doesn't really make much sense as in real sweaty moments I'm sure more people are pushing on their wheels trying not to crash and burn then pull and steer. The NLR stand is made of steel and is really heavy. Maybe that's why it doesn't move like that?

For people that don't have a lot of room and want to spend some money wheel stands are great, just make sure you get a quality one like this one or the Next Level Racing. Both will be great and will be loads better then a desk.

Received the DD-X and I can tell the manual is anything but clear. My mechanic skils went up with +23 today. ^^

I like the caster tray. The biggest problem with stands is the chair or stand moving. Using the stand to keep the chair from moving back and the weight of driver in chair to help steady the stand is brilliant.

Man the solution to me for office chair movement is just replacement wheels with decent brakes. My chair doesn't budge now. I also set my CSL brake at the traditional clutch location that gives me allot more room.

I locked my chair in the level position and eliminated the lift on the classic stand, the chair in the spring position makes you lean back while breaking causes the lift at the tray, l have a dd x on order, nice review

I am looking at ordering this stand, thanks for the very informative review! a thought but perhaps with the chair mount the quick release and bolt need swapping over to alow for changing to the other hole? Could be wrong??

If I need a handbrake mounted, would that be a deal breaker for this stand? I was planning on getting this stand for my new GT DD pro (5nm) and then later updating it to the full cockpit. I sent GT omega a message asking if a handbrake mount was available and they just replied and said no. Not very helpful to be honest. They didn't say if there is one planned for future or if it would be possible to use a universal mount. It's just the lack of handbrake mount that is holding me back. Any ideas or Info would be really appreciated! Ps thanks Karl for all of your efforts. Love your videos! 👌🏽👍🏽

I wonder if 3D printing custom parts to lock the rotation of the office chair and clamp it down onto the chair extension will solve some of the issues.

Thanks for the video. I was thinking the same when assembled my next level 2.0 BUT the issue i have is after first 2 months i always have to tight more screws because of the vibrations. i have r12. i use pedals with 25bars on break and nothing moves BUT the base part is the most problematic for me.

I´m using the GT Omega Apex since a few months with the DD Pro 8nm and the CSL pedals with LC. I does it´s job really well. The biggest issue of this new wheel stand for me is it is not foldable anymore. I´s m sharing the place for the wheel stand and the monitor with my wife´s place for her home office, so the option to fold the wheel stand is very usable for me.

Am I not paying enough attention or is this 90% an Apex (got mine before they added the chair tray 😢) but with additional rigidity on the pedal tray and some corner brackets swapped in place of the pedal tray hangers?

Looking at the site apparently I can het that chair tray separately so if I can get it sent to Canada I guess that is my solution moving back (already replaced the casters with feet but they still slip on carpet) when I get excited about braking or slamming down the clutch 😅.

Next is either opt for the actual deat setup that I have no place to put when not in use 😔... Or find a comfortable chair that doesn't swivel!

Hi Karl, thanks for this video, I really need help here, I got a space problem and I cannot decide whether to buy the playseat challenge x or this wheel stand from omega, I got a gaming chair that is fixed to the ground with a heavy plate with no chair wheels.
Looking forward for your advice
