As a Greek I can’t believe that a fellow Greek who actually grew up in Greece, went to film school in Athens and started his career in Greece is sitting at this round table among some legends and Hollywood A-listers
Really proud of Giorgos

I love the bromance between Lee and Cuarón!

50:20 Spike Lee paying respect to Cuarón's beach scene is everything

How do you know you won in directing? When Spike Lee congratulates you for your work. That melted my heart. Two legendary directors right next to each other.

The time he asks what important person the directors would like to have dinner with, and so Ryan says that at the moment he would invite his mother, and then the interviewer rudely says that nobody there knew her so Coogler had to pick another person, you can see how everyone at the table was uncomfortable. I mean, Bradley just had choose his teacher right before. What a disaster.

Ryan says his mom is someone he admires and the interviewer puts it down - so rude

38:40 Ryan Coogler, Spike Lee, and Alfonso Cuarón laughing at Galloway's stutter curiosity was hilarious.

I really like Alfonso Cuaron. He is a very sensitive person, really down to earth and tremendously assertive.

As a Latino I gotta commend the Mexican community for encouraging cinema the way they do. Cuarón, Iñarritu, Del Toro, etc... in the last years there is always representation in the great ones at the end of the year.
Roma is my favorite 2018 film so far.

So refreshing to hear all the directors being direct with each other, occassionally coming to cross purposes but having a real conversation... Spike Lee's frankness in particular is a treasure.

One of the better THR roundtable. The directors really directed and took control of this roundtable. Love it.

Marielle Heller is such an interesting, fresh new voice to cinema. Great selection of directors here. Spike Lee is really good at facilitating the conversation/asking people questions.

They should have just let Spike host this discussion, lol

Love or hate Spike Lee, there's no denying he's a legend in the industry and the admiration of him in this room was obvious. To me he's very hit or miss but when he hits, he hits in a powerful way that few film directors ever manage to do.

It's amazing how much the host wants Bradley Cooper to dish the dirt on the people he's worked with

I've always felt that these interviews would be better without a moderator, just give them some basic questions to star them off and then just let them talk about whatever they want. I mean c'mon, "name a person that inspired you", what is this a job interview?

55:10 "I'm a speak for myself but, I say a prayer every night because I do what I love. A lot of people go to their graves and work the job they hated, so we're blessed"

Stephen Galloway crucified this interview. Coogler could be potentially about to spill his heart out about his mother but he gets shot down by this control freak.
