Decorating 101 - Grandmillennial Style! 2 Bedroom Apartment

Hello everybody! Today I share with you how I make my apartment home cozy, decorating in the GrandMillinal Style...and I show you how I achieved this look mostly by buying things from the thrift store. 5 Pillers achieve this look and I share those tips with you today. Easy to follow and a true adventure! Art, pottery, textures, and setting a mood. It is all here and so I hope you like my tips. I also share with you a story that happened on my way home from the thrift store...something that has stayed with my since it happened. I saw this young woman struggling...and I arrived too late. I also show you a little bit of Desi getting his very first BarkBox! I told him not to touch it until I could get there...but you see him sneaking a peek!

Oh I cannot stop crying Susan, the story you told about the young mother, you see that was my mother, we were poor after they my parents separated, my brother and I. My mother would go with out for us never complained ( we didn’t have a car so we took the bus our we walked everywhere) . But all my friends loved my mother, I never I mean I knew we were poor but we had such love she was the most wonderful giving caring loving person and I miss her so much I lost her when I was 16 1/2. I think what makes a house a home is when it reflects who you are. Years ago, I had a consultant from Ethan Allen come to my condo to help me with ideas for decorating and she said, "This is the happiest home I've ever been in!" Not the fanciest, the most chic, the grandest, the most beautiful...but the happiest. I've lived off that compliment for a long time!

After a sad marriage of infidelity and betrayal, abuse, it finally ended in a painful divorce, my grown children started slowly coming back to visit. Each one had the same expression...they all said Mom! It looks so good here...it feels...and then the words dropped off. I had been working on sorting and clearing, but nothing big. I realized what they couldn’t put into words was the feeling. All my life the effort to decorate beautifully was for nothing. I think what makes a house a home is love, yes, but I’d always had that, for my 5 children and even in a way for my husband. Now it was different, what made it finally home was the void that was there has now been filled. Peace, joy, hope and love are all that are here now💗

Hi Susan and sweet Desi, another sweet video❤️🥰 we were poor growing up, there were eight children, but one thing I will always remember, we had Love❤️ I remember my mom talking to someone once, and they said years later, how they were So Jealous of how our family was so happy and close. We had awesome Christmases, Holiday’s and family gatherings. So many relatives, and friends wanted to spend their holidays with our family❤️ and a lot of them did❤️ To me family is what truly makes a happy home, and life.❤️

What makes a house a home? Number one is those who live in it and their relationships to one another. In terms of Decor, soft lighting and the mix of old and new speak “welcome, linger, contentment.” U do it extremely well. Your house is your palette and u r the painter.
