Hart House Student Debates and Dialogue Committee
Показать описание
The Hart House Debates and Dialogue Committee provides University of Toronto students with opportunities to find and develop their capacity for leadership, planning, and self-expression. Founded in 1919 to protect and uphold the principles of free speech and debate in Canada, we serve as a platform for social and political discourse and host events with leaders in every field.
We work with the Hart House Debating Club to organize several tournaments in the House and assist in the selection of students to represent Hart House in the World Debating Championship.
Our events cover a variety of important topics including economics, foreign policy, arts, technology, healthcare, social policy, and the environment.
Through panel discussions, keynote addresses, or more intimate and experiential sessions, students participate with invited speakers and panelists. This provides opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions and the chance to learn how to organize and promote diverse and productive public discourse.
