New subscriber. Nice to see these older sports bikes preserved. I had a 1989 FZR1000EXUP which I owned and enjoyed for 15 years. Did a restoration after 10 years ownership, then after another 5 years I part exchanged it for a mint 1999 TL1000R which was about 6 years ago This will be preserved in it's perfect condition for as long as I'm able to ride it. Purchased a 1989 GSXR1100 earlier this year that was part of a bike collection for 20 years, so I'll do a full mechanical recommission first followed by a bodywork restoration - it's in great condition but I want it perfect. To me both the ZX7R and the TLR were the WOW bikes when they came out, and I just love that v-twin engine in the TLR. Looking forward to the rest of your restoration.

It is definitely the best looking motorcycle ever. Even from the early nineties till the last one in the 2000s it's a mean looking machine.

Great to see my old bike again, so good I owned it twice! I dropped the bike at Cadwell and had the fairings painted at a bodyshop in Louth but I was never happy with the finish so I didn't finish putting it back together and swapped it for a dolomite sprint. Really looking forward to seeing finished.

Its only when we start stripping our bikes down when we realise how much work goes into manufacturing them. Good job Tom.

Can't wait for more. I had an Orange 2003. Loved that bike, still one of the best looking bikes of all time.

Never the fastest, certainly not now and yet still the absolute business. My ZX12R is certainly quicker but I do really want a ZX7R - just so Good looking.

Hi,
I am currently engaged in a similar process with a 98 model and your video (that shows my age) is better than any number of photos I have taken to show where everything goes.
I'm using just an Abba stand and I have to say I am rather jealous of your lift.
Thanks for great help....

Recently refurbished my 7R. Forks re-chromed by Philpotts, Nitron rear shock, complete brake overhaul. Carbs fettled by my stepfather, full Akrapovic exhaust system. Dyno’d 118bhp at rear wheel. 15/43 gearing makes it a real hoot to ride. Infectious induction growl, superb handling & gorgeous looks…😁👍🏻

Great stuff, just subscribed when you mentioned RRC resto. I appreciate youtubers like you who edit out the sound of angle grinders and other loud tools.
