The testing is what keeps this series fresh imo. Better than other compilation vids

The testing is part of smash review because it shows your curiosity and you actually engaging with the clip. I personally enjoy it a lot.

I like when you guys test things! There's value in understanding how these clips happen. Even when you guys don't get results, it still sets you guys apart from other reaction content

Just wanted to throw my opinion here, I do really enjoy the testing aspect of the videos I feel like seeing something cool and then getting an explanation of it with a bit of a tutorial is the reason I keep watching you guy's. Idk abt others but thats what I love, maybe like 2-3 segments a video is ideal but do what you guys feel is best.👍

I love the testing aspect in these videos, really reminds me of the old BSD videos where they would be about the newest tech or discovery. I'd rather know how something works than just go "ooh funny interaction haha" and move on. If you guys didn't test in-video I would probably want to test it myself on my switch, but I'm usually not home, working, etc. so I really appreciate the testing

Yoshi's double jump armor works like this:
It is active frame 1-44 of his double jump, with Yoshi being able to fastfall after frame 38.
It looks at the knockback of the attack and subtracts 120 units of knockback. For context, this is enough to send a little over half of FD on a move with Sakurai angle (most horizontal launchers).
If the result is less than 0, Yoshi ignores all knockback and continues jumping. If it is greater than 0 but less than 60, Yoshi takes 60 units of knockback. This comes out to a minimum of 23 frames of hitstun off any armor break. If it is greater than 60, yoshi takes that amount of knockback. So a move that does 250 units of knockback, more than enough to kill from across the stage, will only do 130 units, not even enough to send across the stage.
Don't try to brute force your way through armor, instead use safe options like falling aerials or, better yet, wait for him to start falling then go for the whiff punish, cuz Yoshi be mashing.

Tbh i feel like y'all have been nailing the balance between clips and testing for a long time. Sometimes you do more and sometimes you do less, and that's ok. What's important is that you test when YOU want to, because you're legit curious about a mechanic. Your sincere curiosity has always been a part of the charm of this series.

definitely more testing, even just to see just how hard a move is

Keep the testing! It’ll be nice to know what’s possible and consistent vs here’s something cool that can only be done once

yoshis double jump armor subtracts 120 units of knockback from whatever yoshis hit by. so if you hit yoshi with 140 units of knockback hell take 20 units of knockback and with gnw 9 and 999 it make practically no difference

I find myself always excited and looking forward to when I hear the Batman music. Testing is one of the best parts because funny things can come from it Lol

If I remember correctly, Yoshi's Armor on his double jump becomes less effective at higher percents. I could be wrong about that, but the armor can be broken through more easily at those higher percentages. The same applies to the reduced knockback, I think.
