Nanomedicine & RA with Dr. Massimo Bottini [Part 1]

Показать описание
Dr. Massimo Bottini, a researcher and bio-engineer who splits his time between the University of Rome and the Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute in San Diego, CA, talks about his project on targeting RA cells using nanomedicine.

His hope is to only target the affected cells in rheumatoid arthritis sufferers' bodies, leaving their other cells untouched so the proper treatment protocol can be administered. In turn, the amount of medication patients take will likely be reduced, if successful.

I have osteoarthritis and am a retired nurse.  I am excited about Dr. Bottini's work with nano technology.  Even with ultrasound, iontophoresis and corticosteroid treatments, exercise and diet, I experience pain and discomfort.  If nano drugs are developed and used, I hope to have less pain in my life.

An exciting approach to fighting arthritis!  I'm sure for those working in the field it can be a slow (and at times frustrating) process, but the end result will be a relief for a multitude of people.  Keep it up!!
