Love Penelope Wilton's comment about Hats👒 and that it's too bad we don't wear them anymore. This is rather telling of my age but I clearly remember my mother and father having an argument and her retort was: "Well, I'll just go out and buy a hat!" Wow, what a threat. A sign of those times...

I thank Downton Abbey for helping me understand the British accent. I couldn’t understand all the words every time I watched a British movie, and I live in Canada. Then after I saw all the Downton Abbey episodes of the six seasons with subtitles, I was able to understand most of the words, practically all except when they speak too fast. I saw the episodes on CBC Gem, with tons of commercials but it was worthy. Now I am asking for more. Please make more series like Downton.
