Don Carr presents the Fender American Professional Series Telecaster. It's crafted to give you the best design elements from classic vintage Teles, along with the most popular modern features, in one gig-ready instrument. Tim Shaw designed the two V-mod single-coil pickups for a vintage voice that is balanced across all the switch positions. And Fender's popular neck carve has been enhanced to a Deep-C profile that increases playing comfort.

I'm a proud owner of one, but with the maple neck. The guitar is amazing.

Thank you so much for plugging straight into a Fender amp so we can hear what the guitar actually sounds like!! Most people play their OD pedal and we never hear the damn guitar. It drives me nuts lol 😂.

July 10th 2018, I bought the American Professional telecaster guitar (Ash body with rosewood fretboard) for fifteen hundred dollars, and it sounds just like a Stratocaster with no Country Twang. So, what's up with that? I see videos that say I need reverb, delay, and a little distortion to get the Twang. I was hoping the guitar had that Country Twang sound, but it does not, even with reverb. Oh well, my Fender Stratocaster sounds better????

Sweetwater, How does this guitar compare to the new '18 Fender Original Tele?
Thanks. The Original sounded better on video, but that's not a good medium vs live.

Great presentation like always. Do you see a difference between the Maple neck one and the Rosewood one? I would like to compare the two. Thank you...

Well, the treble bleed works, but these pickups are too sanitised, telecasters need to be brash and brutal

Nice improvements though Fender stops short once again. The bone/self lubricating? nut, rolling string tree and staggered tuners help with intonation and sustain but the WRAPPINGS around the tuning post that give when bending moving slightly and not bouncing back exactly is one of the major reasons for tuning problems and why locking premium staggered tuners are a necessity for any professionally outfitted guitar. When I spend over $1000 for a guitar, the things that can be right SHOULD be right especially from the head-stock where most tuning problems occur and can't be cured without surgery. Please get it right at least once Fender, at least on one model. STAGGERED LOCKING PREMIUM TUNERS, ROLLER STRING TREE, SELF LUBRICATING NUT. We don't know if Fender is using camel bone or nut. Unbleached camel bone is the only natural self lubricating bone nut. A bone nut or ANY kind of nut means nothing for tuning stability unless it is self lubricating (made from camel bone).

Sounds twangy enough in that opening passage ;-). I'm getting a used one

I just bought this. These pick ups are too modern sounding for me.

Anyone recommend a 50s/60s rock and roll sounding pickups? I was considering DiMarzio Twang King.

My Fender American Professional Telecaster doesn't sound like this when I play it, oh yeah, I suck.

It's amazing (or ridiculous) that Fender is still changing stuff after 60 years on the Telecaster and say it is new. Why not just work on a new guitar?!

I thought that was Caitlyn Jenner playing guitar!

These "minor tweak, upgrades, player request" makes me laugh. Does this mean Fender have just discovered features used by other brands for decades???
Let's go for it:
1) bras saddles ✔
2) modified tele tray ✔
3) treble bleed circuit ✔
4) alnico magnet pickups ✔
5) tall narrow frets ✔
6) bone nut ✔
7) staggered height tuners ✔
8) The neck might be worth checking out. But even that has been here before. ✔

Don Carr and Fender, now that wasn't very convincing, was it?
Better say: "There's hardly anything new. We played around with this legend of a guitar. Tried a few stuff that's been around for years. Come on, people! Listen to this, it's a Telecaster !!!"
