Ο Γιάννης Κωνσταντινίδης (Σμύρνη 1903 - Αθήνα 1984), ήταν συνθέτης, πιανίστας και μαέστρος, από τις πιο διακεκριμένες προσωπικότητες της Ελληνικής Μουσικής του 20ού αι. (τόσο της "κλασικής" όσο και της "ελαφράς", στην οποία διέπρεψε με το ψευδώνυμο "Κώστας Γιαννίδης). Συνδύαζε αρμονικά τα στοιχεία της ελληνικής δημοτικής μουσικής με τη κλασική μουσική. Αυτός είναι ο 2ος από τους 3 ελληνικούς χορούς που έφτιαξε το 1950, ο Τσακώνικος (Allegreto con grazia).
Giannis Konstantinidis (Smyrna 1903 - Athens 1984), was a composer, pianist and conductor, the most prominent figures of Greek Music of the 20th century (both "classical" and the "light" in which he excelled under the pseudonym "Costas Giannidis). He armonically combines elements of Greek folk music with classical music. This is the second of the 3 Greek dances created in 1950, the Tsakonikos dance (Allegreto con grazia).
