Actually you missed the whole point of the bee-extinction. It's about wild and solitary bees, that are going extinct. They are often specialised in the native flora and a lot more effective pollinators than European honey bees.

Wild pollinators such as Bumblebee etc that's the real problem, without them we are doomed

Farmers DO pay for bees. Every spring you'll see trucks carrying hives to the farms that have paid for them. Sure, neighboring farms benefit, but crop yields are lower on them. I know, I've worked on farms whose crops absolutely depend on bees.

Wild pollinators are very important and the effect of intensive agriculture where I live is notable.
Owners of orchards or vegetable growers pay a lot for bees who travel 100's of km.
And as a fun fact: a farmer I knew sold his honey as organic while being surrounded by others who were not.

I can't believe you did not mention the Varroa mite at length. Its the "threat" to beekeeping.

If I were a farmer, I'd rather cut my food production by one quarter and become a part farmer/part beekeeper than pay a beekeeper for his/her service. That way, not only I get to produce my food but also produce extra honey in return, all for practically ZERO costs for bee services.

This needs more conversations between humans and bees. This could start by repealing the Bee Law No.1: AbSOLUteLy NO TaLkiNg To HuMaNs!

I don’t quite understand why such an insignificant amount of time was dedicated to wild bees. Is it seriously not a problem according to this channel?

With a platform such as this one, wouldn’t you spend more time educating your audience on the importance of native bees? Otherwise, to me it comes across as “we shouldn’t worry about bees in general.”

Regardless, great video lol

How is it that a video discussion about the economics of bees is parked under Visual Politics? A great video nonetheless!

Your really believe bees are the one thing that can pollenise plants 😂😂😂 Bees are a big minority in this chapter.

A single bee in elephant 🐘 ear can make him crazy mad that's a power of bee.

Its not that black and white. We have a farmer in the family that has his own bees, kept permanently on the farm.

There’s a difference between data and information

Can somebody make a video on that?

"Science" used to require people to learn about a subject and make observations in the real world. Now, public intellectuals just make abstract mathematical models from their ivory towers and have no interaction with reality. Better yet, as long as they reach the conclusions that their politically well-connected sponsors paid for, their work will be shielded from academic scrutiny. Companies like Philip Morris are far from the only set of deep pockets with agendas that do not coincide with the public good. The practice of laundering bad research through academic journals without legitimate scrutiny will only serve to further topple the public's crumbling faith in our institutions.
