Alec Baldwin was formally charged Tuesday with involuntary manslaughter in the deadly 2021 shooting on the set of his Western movie "Rust" in New Mexico, according to court documents. Similar charges were formally filed against the film's armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. Baldwin was holding a gun during a rehearsal when it discharged, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

My daughter is in the US Army and she was showing me some of her weapons, handguns, and rifles. She first, before handing me her handgun, pulled the clip and then looked in the chamber. then properly handed the gun to me. I turned it away from her and started to point it. She stopped me and said "did you check to see if it was loaded" I looked at her and said, "no you already did that." She then proceeded to educate me on the use of firearms. "YOU NEVER ASSUME A GUN IS UNLOADED UNTIL YOU CHECK IT YOURSELF."

He pulled the trigger, he said it to police after the shooting occurred then changed his story afterwards, to me that is damage control.

Just to give the facts the liberal media won't: Alec is the production company and he hired the armorer who is a friend's daughter that had no experience as a lead armorer. Members of the crew were quitting the set days before this happened because Alec didnt fire the armorer after TWO accidental discharges of live rounds on the set days before this one happened. That is why Alec has been charged with manslaughter.

What it boils down to is this: who’s hand was the gun in when it was fired! Guns don’t “go off”, they’re FIRED. From what Alec Baldwin has said in interviews, he pulled the trigger on a gun that he had no experience with. He’s also said that the gun went off by itself which is like saying a car started by itself and ran someone over. It’s impossible. Now, how the bullet got in the gun is a big issue too. I agree with the young armorer being held responsible as well. Making sure all of your guns are clear is not that hard as long as you don’t take shortcuts. This is such a sad loss.

This was an accident, could happened to anyone. People love to kick a person when they're down. Its tragic for the woman's family and baldwins family. Nobody wins.

I have seen video of Alec with his finger ON the trigger, as he pulled a single action gun from its holster.
Pretending anything with a firearm is risky business - no matter what anybody tells themselves.
No precautions, including final precautions, can be "not-taken".
Proximity to a deadly weapon, either known or unknown, belongs to the hand it resides in.
All precautions must remain at all times or negligence becomes a factor.
I rest my case. Please rebut in kind.

Not trying to be funny or argue against the case as I am not lawyer by any means but I genuinely don't understand the manslaughter charge against Baldwin specifically. He didn't load the gun and even if he did pull the trigger, he wouldn't have known it was loaded with live rounds. I can understand a civil lawsuit but not a criminal one.
