Moirè projection

A folded and rolled up brightness enhancing prism film from an LCD backlight being lit by multiple LEDs in a straight array that is focused by a linear fresnel lens. The light from each individual LED beam interacts with the Moirè interference pattern generated by the prism layer being folded against itself and then slightly offsetting the prism orientation by 5-10 degrees.

The result is a very unique optical phenomenon called Moirè projection, that kinda breaks my mind.
