You're watching the official music video for The Ocean Blue -''Drifting, Falling'' from the album 'The Ocean Blue' (1989)

With the release of their self-titled debut, The Ocean Blue quickly achieved widespread acclaim and radio & MTV airplay with top 10 Modern Rock/College Radio hits like "Between Something and Nothing", "Drifting, Falling", and "Vanity Fair". Followed by Cerulean, Beneath the Rhythm and Sound , and See The Ocean Blue, the band's fanbase grew with each release.

The band continued to several records, including 2000's Davy Jones Locker and 2004's Waterworks. In 2013, the band released their first full length record in a decade, Ultramarine, on Korda Records. In 2015, the band worked with Sire Records to reissue their first three albums on vinyl, and toured North America and South America, where some of their most passionate fans reside.

In 2019, the band returned with the beautifully powerful Kings and Queens / Knaves and Thieves, and has continued to tour for this release and the newly re-issued vinyl of See The Ocean Blue (2022) and Davy Jones Locker (2023).

Honestly, why this song did not make them mega-stars is beyond me. Incredible lyrics and music. Perfection.

The greatest band ever, from Hershey, PA. Don't even try to change my mind.

Crying, listening to this today, far away from home and missing my people, but also taking on a big challenge for a while. Truly magical piece of music this.

This song really hit me hard in 89, especially the lyric “ you may you’re all alone, all your friends have grown and gone away”. This was my second year out of high school and my friends went away to college. I was alone.

Although I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of this band, this one song is such a pure distillation of a certain feeling many of us had around the late 80s/early 90s; a melancholy, dreaming, Kids in the Hall, kind of feeling. It's absolutely beautiful.

This band is basically the soundtrack to my life. My dad has great taste in music.

Their debut album is one of those rare works that is "all killer, no filler" - there's not a weak spot on that whole disc. Every song is absolutely beautiful, and the entire thing meshes perfectly. And much like my fellow GenX'ers who became fans when this was released, this track evokes some very distinct memories - as does the entire album.

One word to describe this band: "smooth" I can't believe i haven't heard them until now.

The railroad crossing seen in the distance at 3:04 is located on US-322 in Hummelstown, PA. The tracks and crossing are still there, but those classic crossing signal cantilevers were replaced in 2021 and 2022.

Saw them in a college gym in Pa, opening for the Furs. So humble, for absolutely no reason. Top notch!

I am crying.. I’ve felt so isolated and alone for so many years..such a chance finding this beautiful band.. nothing more to say but I hope they’re still producing the music and lyrics that truly shine such a light on being human after all x

This song is playing right now on the radio!!! I was like, "omygosh, this is Ocean Blue!" Seriously only the second time ever I've heard the radio play an Ocean Blue song. This band is so under-rated.

Someone accurately said this is the most English sounding American band. Definitely can hear influence of The Smiths, Cure and others in that vein.

72 haters??? How can you thumbs down this song? These guys were kids when they made this and are still making good stuff today! Not many bands from this era or even after them are making music, let alone even together as a band. Longevity and a style all their own speaks for itself

A classic piece of melancholia from a very underrated band.

Still a fave after all these years. Takes my back to the KROQ days!

I owned this album on cassette tape track and played them non stop in my 1979 Jeep CJ-7. There were only 6 or 7 regular T.V. stations, no internet, no social media, just bright blue skies.

What great times, 80's into the 90's... This was blasting on the speakers at a local record shop and I immediately bought the cassette! 1990.
