It makes me curious if they’ll address the fact that Winter Soldier tried to kill Natasha and even gave her a bullet hole scar when he was brainwashed and how Yelena and Alexi would react to that. I don’t think they’d judge him too harshly but it would be an interesting conversation between them.

I think you are ignoring the timeline difference. Red guardian thinks that the Hydra serum is "fancy" because he wasn't even born when those events took place. And Bucky is most likely the closest they ever got to re-making Steve Rogers, his idol.

The stuff he got was even more watered down.
