Forged in the crucible of training aboard our recruit depots on Parris Island, South Carolina, in San Diego, California, or through the dedication required of officer candidates at Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia. Beyond the physical requirements, aspiring Marines must prove they have the honor, courage, and commitment to face and defeat any obstacle.

I want to be a part of the brotherhood & sisterhood, more than anything, not for the money, not for me, but for them, for us, for the country, for those suffering & that have endured the same if not worse than me in life, & give what I have given to the unworthy in the past, to the worthy of the Marine Corps, & to those beyond in and outside of the country, not with my words, but with my blood, sweat, tears, mind, body, & soul.

I have been in hiding, like a hermit, alone, behind my own trauma, for far too long, & it’s time for me to come out, surrender to the unknown, & share what I have discovered & learned with the world.
