I love my Pipe Hawk. It's so versatile and capable. I use mine for making kindling, chopping limbs off logs that I'm going to turn into firewood, and even cutting down small trees. It's easy to use with one hand or two hands. As a carpenter, all my pants have a hammer loop. I love that I can stick my Pipe Hawk into the hammer loop and carry it with me when I go for a walk in the woods. And it's great at driving nails too! The long handle gives it the speed and power to sink nails in just one or two blows.

They all look pretty nice! I think I prefer a doe's foot handle for any hatchet because i can better prevent it from rotating in my hand when it stikes, and the flair at the foot can help create a bit more power too. I like the pipe

Bought a cold steel hawk about 3 years ago. Love it! Seems to hold an edge. Sharpened to mirror finish. Bought leather sheath. Use if for backpacking, and bushcraft. Even cuts feather sticks fairly well. Love it!

Great video, Brian. Thanks. Sold me on the Hudson Bay, love the bit shape, length and obvious heavier weight. I love tomahawks too, but the ones I’ve tried to split firewood down with convinced me that they’re way too light. I think a 2lbs. bit is minimum needed.

I carry my hawk with me to the woods. Use it building ground blinds and trimming brush. Yes, they’re not an axe but carrying one of my axes stuck in my belt doesn’t work well.

Cold steel is a great brand, I have several of them; however my favorite hawk is from CRKT woods chogan hawk. Very similar to the pipe hawk but CRKT doesn't use set screws.

I have the frontier hawk. Scablands Scavenger has a series on the Cold Steel hawks. Being able to remove the head and use it has a hand tool is a plus. If you're not building a log cabin or chopping down big trees, a hawk will work just fine out in the field. ✌️

I've got two Pipe Hawks. Both of them I took a sharpening puck to and got a fine edge. Love them both.

The tomahawk throw that splits the tree was the beginning credits of Daniel Bonne.. Ed Ames was not a native American but he was part Ukrainian from his mother.

Nice hawk throws .

I have all three tomahawks. I like the trail hawk the best. It has a more even balance. You know they are cast, not forger. I removed the paint and used gun blue on them. I also stripped the finish off the handles. Sanded them and staind them. And burnt markingd on the handles. They look cool as hell.

Good video, I sure like my pipe tomahawk, it gets a lot of use at the barbecue grill splitting mesquite wood for smoking meat, If I need something smaller than chunks I’ll use the hammer end to mash the wood into small pieces or shave it.
By the way I’ve enjoyed watching your music videos
You’ve got some good original songs!!!

I think this video was informative and mildly entertaining for sure. Thank you for the review. I picked the pipehawk up two weeks ago. I’m looking forward to putting her through my own scientifically, accurate test.

I love my pipe hawk and trail hawk… that was until I got the CRKT Chogan Hammer in the mail today. Love the feel of that hawk. For the record, the rifleman’s hawk was not worth my time.
