Interesting. At 12V, your motor draws about 4A, and at 16V, it draws about 5.3A.

I bought a motor that seems to be very similar to yours. I found that at 11.3V, my motor draws about 1.9A, so I guess it's only half as powerful as yours. In theory, 22 AWG wire should be able to handle this current, but I find that my wires seems to warm up disturbingly fast for some reason. Do your wires get too warm after prolonged use?
