Why Nike Banned the Caitlin Clark Shoe

Caitlin Clark is more popular than Victor Wembanyama in the United States. Despite that fame, Nike refuses to give her a signature shoe until 2026/27. This is a look at why the shoe giant isn’t making all the money they can off of their star WNBA player.

WNBA players complain for years about lack of attention, then a superstar comes along and brings them attention, and they shun her for it. Clark is like a rising tide that lifts all ships, but the WNBA players would rather sink her than let her be the force that brings them up. Pretty sad.

As a black man who is decidedly left wing, nothing irritates me more than when people bastardize what could be useful terms for their own gain. It's not just Caitlin Clark. The entire new generation of women's basketball players are getting way more attention. JuJu will be getting just as much spotlight when she comes. And that's because the skill level and playstyle of women's basketball has dramatically changed. The new girls don't just play better, they look better when they do it. And that's better for social media, which is how they're getting popular. And Aja trying to intellectualize her own jealousy by weaponizing terms like "white privilege" is so fucking lame.
