Hares on the Mountain

Okay, forgive the framing of this video. My iPhone stand broke and it was a choice between the top of my head and the fretboard.

I only recently heard this tune from a band called Faoileán, and I thought their version was so haunting and beautiful. Then I found Lankum’s version and then I found Shirley Collins and suddenly I was just up to my ears in Hares on the Mountain.

I didn't think I had the haunting edge, and I liked the speed and playfulness of Collins' version, so I went with that tempo.

But definitely go check out the other versions, if you haven't already!
