I have no idea where this was recorded, but I love the live, church-hall ambience of this performance - the sense of a band finding their way through the song for the first time.

my mother, a singer, refused to sing with or for me, her singerdaughter. she died without letting me hear a naturally aged woman's voice still functioning in song in mature years.

here is such a voice, and i am thankful for it being strong, emotive, expressive and wise.😃

song, genre and woman were all unknown to me until this day and in this one song i am schooled in my absent culture: i get it. THIS is a vibrational strand in the sound of ancient english culture. wow. how far we have travelled.
