Having owned two Disco 1's when I needed a new 4x4 5yrs ago I really waned to buy a Disco 3. However, having read tons of reviews & watching YT vids I was too scared by the thought ofbody off Turbo replacement scenario. Consequently I pulled the trigger on a Range Rover TD6 L322. I love the old girl & won't be parting with her too soon but would've loved the practicality of the Disco 3. As it happens my brother has a Disco 4 and two of my daughters have (or had) Disco 3's with no major problems. 👍

I've had mine for 5 months now and love it. I've always wondered if mine has a rear locking diff. It does have the rear (green) lock symbol, however I have never tested it.

Hi Jay, thanks for your videos. I have not heard you mention the front winch you have, maybe I missed that episode but I've looked for it. Thanks David

Crank snapping is a D4 issue. Main problem with D3 is oil pump housing fracturing, causing catastrophic engine failure.

Did you make a video of how you removed the roof rack surround? It looks like a genuine LR expedition roof rack with the sides removed?

Hi Jay, I didn't catch you mention whether your running petrol or Diesel, thanks

Thanks for the video! I drive an LR3 in Canada. Petrol gets very poor mileage! Can I do a diesel conversion? Or should I import a disco 3 or a classic defender!
Thanks again for the video and series 🙂

Fantastic video and awesome channel! How come I haven't stumbled on these before? =)
I've been searching for used Disco 3 for some time, but they're getting hard to find in my country, especially reasonable mileage ones... It's also hard to find an alternative for Discovery, nothing really compares to it directly. My next best option is a WK Jeep Grand Cherokee, it has better diesel engine and repairs are slightly cheaper, but then again the Discovery beats it in practicality (I could use the extra 7 seats every now and then) and interior quality, plus it's also a tad better on road.

Quick question. If you replace the air suspension with terra firm shocks.. Does it affect the 4*4 info readings?

Good video and very informative. As for the crank issue, thats on the disco 4 with 3.0 TDV6/SDV6 engines.

Not one but TWO sandwich-storage areas.

You are basically driving a money pit. The crank, crossover pipe, turbos, gremlins, oil pump, timing belts, suspension faults, handbrake faults, and glow plugs. Tub needs taken off for any major repairs. I would avoid at all costs. Be warned.😢
