already two craters under Greenland's ice.
Now imagine how many undiscovered craters are likely to be under the ice of Antarctica.

Imagine the thousands of ocean impacts our planet must have had in the past hundred million years or so that we will never even know about

A mission to drill through the Greenland ice seems like a great way to practice for drilling ice on Enceladus and other icy moon exploration.

The impact crater of this newly discovered one resembles the strike patterns of very low angle asteroid impacts.
See how it's not circular, but more elongated with some smaller extra 'bounce' impacts in a straight line on the other side?

Well... I guess a tweet saying "great job!" wouldn't hurt...

Randall Carlson talked about the likely hood of these craters on Joe Rogan like 6 years ago. He looked at geological formations and made the arguments that they were made rapidly and not over a long period.

Hello wonderful Anton. The blast wave from the meteor strike melted the northwest corners of stone statues in Egypt. In the Caribbean, the North of the stone buildings were melted. The giant tsunami pushed Atlantis into western Africa.

12K years and 2 craters gives us a source for meltwater pulse 1a and 1b

My fiance flies as an engineer on of the NASA jets that is outfitted with those radar devices that have found both of these craters. Very cool stuff!

This second crater, my question is whether there is any indication that the area was covered with ice when the impact occurred or not?

Imagine falling down an ice shaft that is more than 1.2 miles deep?
Just looking at that depth would make me faint.
