I love how when the apple device loses, the comments fill up with "Who even cares about a boot up test?" People just can't accept when their device isn't the best. Sincerely, an iPad 1 owner.

What's funny is that Apple haters are going to think you're exaggerating or that it can't be true. I've owned an iPad 2 for a year-and-a-half, and I've rebooted it maybe a half-dozen times. It's pretty amazing.

did mine comparing to your video and took 45secs the quickest (after 2 restarts), got about 45gb worth of stuff on it, yours was pretty quick, never seen an iPad boot that quick,

Correct friend. I just rebooted with a 25 second bootime, so its a questionable test. In ll fairness both devices should be restored to a factory state, not user modified with apps, jailbreaks or whatever else was applied to it.

Just noticed the post date... Found the new iPad 4th gen. Boots in 15sec according to your video. Even though the new iPad is faster to boot than the Surface, why does it matter? You almost never turn it off!

Add another 60 seconds to that Surface bootup. My experience would lead me to believe that Surface, like most Windows machines, continues loading parts of the OS and services in the background even after it has booted up, so while it looks fast, the reality is that it's not actually usable for another minute or so until all the background services are done loading and launching. Mac OS X and iOS are not hindered by that and when they appear booted up, they truly are ready to go.

Considering iPad 3 is old tech compared to the surface, the difference is fair, surface has been in develop waaaay longer than an iPad.
