A test of the 12V batteries in a boat. What are the results when using two different analyzers on the sama batteries at the same day?
CTEK Battery Analyzer and CTEK Pro Battery Tester in test.

Interesting video because that c Tech pro is actually a midtronics MDX P300 with a different cover on it. 😁

By yourself a Biltema tester :-) Cheaper, SEK 649. It works.

Wow, this was very interesting to me, thank you. That's very disappointing consistency, especially for such expensive gear. $900 and gives two different results a week apart. Very poor. And you'd hope two analysers from the same company could at least agree on a yes/no answer.
It seems to me the good/bad flag is just based on a percentage of whatever the original CCA rating is that you enter. Maybe the pro is measuring voltage drop during load testing as well but it doesn't report that so who knows. While a CCA load measurement is superior to a simple voltage measurement, I think I'd probably make my own judgement about the battery suitability from that point on. And that would depend on what size motor I was starting with it.
For your deep-cycle batteries - the results show they have degraded CCA - but they are not required to output hundreds of amps instantaneously like a starting battery. So again the measurement tells you something useful, but I would make my own decision on what it means for me. The degraded CCA will surely mean lower capacity as well, and as you say they are 5 years old. But if they still hold a charge and serve someone's current needs, then it's not really necessary to replace them. Then again if you are ocean-going, you won't want to take any risks and replacement is sensible.
I suspect these devices err on the side of caution which has resulted in my mother being charged a lot of money for roadside replacement battery recently. I had tested her battery myself only few months before, no access to an expensive analyser, but it held well above 10V while starting the engine - certainly not below the 9.6V threshold often cited for replacement. (my own car battery dipped to 9.4V during load and was certainly showing signs of needing replacement - which I have now done). Thanks again.
