In this video, I will run a speed test on the New Nexus 7 (2nd generation) which was just released with the old Nexus 7 (1st generation) which was released a while back. We will be running the Geekbench 2 Benchmarking tool and do a few browser tests.

New Nexus 7 has a quad-core snapdragon processor with 2GB of RAM while the old Nexus 7 has a nvidia tegra 3 quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

Let's test them out.

Eh, not really, the only time the 2012 model runs at 1.3ghz is if you're only using one core. So it is rarely actually running at 1.3ghz. I suspect its something similar for the 2013 model.

Also next time run multiple apps in same 7 inch display. Will give far better ability for test 2 gigs of ram.

Another general idea is run a highend video game on both quickly talk about if your seeing artifacts in game or notice smoother transitions.

Display light in outdoor direct light does display show glarying reflections.

Tests in Chrome are never a good comparison. Chrome pre-loads the webpage. So, if you type in the url on one first, and then the other, the first device had that much more time to pre-load the website. Turn off pre-loading when doing comparisons in Chrome.

Yes, you've left preloading on...you should have turned it off in chrome Settings beforehand...UNFAIR TEST!

Not brightest review! Benchmarks swing either way depending on benchmark software. I would rather you choose benchmarks that do rendering graphics. Also like benchmark apps that compare online data from other devices. Linux/ Android will always run faster data render then windows by long shot. Play video on web browser and change landscape to portrait view. Gives a more accurate understanding of how powerful CPU/GPU is along with gyrocompass inside. This generally how I test multiple hardware inside tablet and cellphones.

If your device is using latest hardware we should see less problems in a landscape to portrait view and hardly no artifacts in rendering of graphics or video.

Good review otherwise!

Unfair browser test I have new nexus 7 but I know that there is hardly a difference in loading websites besides scrolling but chrome is a rubbish browser for that anyway.
