I use my ns10's because i learned on them 20 years ago when i first started. They are super useful for doing detail listening in the midrange, checking the balance, and gauging how much low end my mix has. But tbh 85% of the time i am using my kh-120's

just got ns10m’s couple weeks ago and absolutely love them, i’m now crushing my mid range in the mix, realized how all my other monitors didn’t accurately represent the mids which is in the end the most important part.

I run a mono Auratone, pair of NS-10m, and pair ATC Scm50asl with two 15” subs. I have a different EQ curve in Totalmix for each set of monitors. The NS-10s sound way better and more neutral than people often think. With my EQ engaged, they’re quite neutral, aside from the lack of sub.

Haha. I had to laugh when you said you hate them. I sort of agree. I owned a pair I bought brand new many years ago and sold them not long ago. I only regret it a little because they became sort of a status thing because they were discontinued, but on the cover of every Mix magazine you’d see them in the control room of big studios. If I kept them I’d set them up just because those famous white speaker cones impresses some people. 😂

some people doesnt know that the ns10s got into the mixing studios for their harshness, many old school engineers believed that if you could achieve certain level of clarity, depth and balance in your mix thru those monitors, that would transfer to, generally speaking, any kind of speakers

I’ve heard a lot of NS10s in studios. They don’t sound great haha. BUT- I think they remained a valuable “car test” for a lot of engineers comfortable with them. They reveal a lot in the midrange and focus some problem areas in the high mids. But with the quality of even some affordable studio monitors being what it is today, I wouldn’t buy a pair personally. But then I reference my stock Apple EarPods all the time while mixing so what do I know? ;)

Hey David. How you doing. I recently thinking upgrading my LP6 v2 to something like Genelec 8331 (I have a very small room with Glass fiber on wall). Will you suggest going to that? Much Thanks

Why you hate the ns10 speakers?
What reason is that David....

NS10 - we hate them for a reason!
They have the ugliest sound, but when the sound is right on them, you just have to check the subs and you are done.

Ns10 are amazing they haven’t been in studios 40 years for nothing.... nothing will translate midrange to a wider range of speakers than ns10s
