It's kind of nice to hear people speak French a bit more slowly, I can actually understand most of what they say. lol

I'll be honest....after seeing and hearing this video...Canadian French/Quebecois French is SOOO Much easier to comprehend and respond to than FR French ....i've been learning french for MANY years!

I found it easier to learn French in Montreal because you can have a wee bit of an accent when speaking French and no one bats an eye since the accents vary so much in Quebec.

Je ne savais pas qu'il y avait une vidéo sur le français québecois. Je l'aime tellement. J'adore l'accent québécois car j'ai étudié le français avec un prof québécois. Ça me rend heureux.

I'm from NY and i remember celebrating my 18th birthday in Montreal and I fell in love with the city. I've been to Canada 3 times but for some reason, I really loved Quebec. I was actually considering moving there in the future but I have to learn some French first lol. That's why I watch these videos and they are very helpful. I'm already bilingual since I speak Spanish but adding 1 or 2 more languages to my vocabulary would be sweet.

Awesome video - I will show this to my French Club in CHINA. My students are getting ready to go to Canada and finish their secondary studies there... this will motivate them to explore Quebec and practice their French.

Why do i understand French spoken in Montreal a lot better than French spoken in France?

I've really been wanting to hear some of the accent spoken in Montreal so this is really amazing! Montreal is touted as second largest French-speaking city in the world. Québécois French is just as valid a version of French as any other. When Quebec was being colonized the standard French was not Parisian, it was from an area north of Paris and that's what the current québécois accent descends from.

The point of Easy Languages mainly is to hear how the people who are being interviewed speak. I thought the host sounded possibly more American than Anything else...

Thanks for the video on Montreal French! I think it's great to have different accents of the language. Being able to get used to all the different dialects of a language really is a plus. Keep up the good work and thank you for keeping us French learners motivated

I can now differentiate between a Quebecois French accent and a French French accent because of the video.

Very helpful lesson for those who need to learn the difference between various accents of French. My Canadian friends emphasized on the fact that French from France has the wrong accent. I guess it's in the eyes of the beholder. Thanks for the clip!
