Boeing throws conventional wisdom out the window, among other things.

Parody of The Weather Girls' "It's Raining Men" written and performed by Remy. Mastering and background vocals by Ben Karlstrom. Table by Scott A. Ewine.

LYRICS:
Welcome to Boeing, where we make earnings per share
And also, I guess, planes
Sir, I still have a concern about the safety of our process for the new—
Have you seen our new incentive pay?

Our new plane is fuel efficient
It's the Prius of the skies
And once we hit our ESG targets
We've got enough to worry about, guys

Diluting our key priorities
Is problematic for safety
Don't you think there might one day be consequences to this?
None that I can foresee

Um…It's raining men
That's a dude, yeah
It's raining men
A man!

Our passengers unlike our fuselage will be screwed under this plan!

Things could not be any going worse
Um, have you seen our diversity score?
Our executive team and door fastenings
Both have fewer nuts than before

If we reach our CO2 standards
I can buy that Panerai
The only carbon plummeting
Is the body of that guy

Oh don't tell me it's happening again—

It's raining men
Another dude, yeah…
It's raining men
A man!

Like Jim Morrison's overdose this is really bad for the doors, man

As someone who worked for Boeing for more than a decade, this video captures the culture of the executive management perfectly

RIP Remy, I will be so sad to hear about his accident.

“Boeing” is that noise you heard just as the landing gear falls off your plane.

I like the detail in the video where the execs are saying "a man" with an expression like "not men, just a single man, no big deal"

Unbelievable that we have come to this where a once cherished and industry leading company is a joke. Brilliant work man. 🙂

Remy videos bring a special kind of smile to my face.

Honestly, this is one of the best parodies ever.

Hilarious. Reminds me of the formerly funny Howard Stern’s prank call asking about the cost of a plane ticket from NY to the Potomac River after a plane crashed there.

So funny! I died harder than a Boeing passenger.

I’ve been saying this since 2006. Boeing lobbying has been entirely out of control, from military aircraft to our (formerly) cheap flights.

Although I usually advocate for blaming incompetence over malice, in Boeing's case I believe there is enough evidence that they knowingly compromised safety for profit. And diversity and enviromentalism doesn't conflict with safety.

During the merger of Douglas and Boeing Douglas corporate culture won out. They were having major issues before 2022, it was pure profit chasing at any cost that did this.

The issue is not about DEI.
The word on the street is that the new management team came from McDonnell Douglas and allegedly was more focused on profitability than quality and safety. This is not a new phenomenon in companies, but it may point to a shift in priorities. Hope Boeing can work this out. They have made great aircraft and had great teams.

I appreciate the Uncle Sugar cameo. This truly is the avengers of parodies.
