Rasengan was an incomplete jitsu. Minato died before infusing wind element. His son was the one that did it successfully. He told his student, but Kakashi couldn't as his is lightning. Well... at least, he came up with Chidori as the basic fundamentals are similiar.

Personally if I was in Kakashi’s sandals, I would used a shadow clone to clash two rasengans together.

I think we all should take a couple of seconds to appreciate the awesome OST played in this scene of naruto. Really brings the emotion out when Kakashi seeing Minato in naruto. The OST in general in naruto and a lot of great anime’s is what contributes a lot to making them a great anime and sets them apart. Brings in so much emotion that gets us drawn to series like these!

This is why I love Naruto compared with Boruto. The development of the character, jutsu introduction, and strategy based (not rely only in power), all makes Naruto more Epic than Boruto (in my oppinion)
