Stop Motion: Rode Smartlav+ & Zoom H6

The Rode Smartlav + is a great sounding lavalier mic that has a TRRS plug (3 black rings on the end) and is designed to be used with your iPhone or iPad (and Android). You can use it with the Zoom handy recorders, but:

To use with Zooms, you need to do 2 things:
1. Get the Rode SC3 adapter which converts

2. On the Zoom, go to Menu...Inputs & Outputs....Plugin Power to ON.

3. Plug Rode SmartLav + into Input of X/Y Stereo Capsule attachment

For Rode Video Mics: they have 3.5mm TRS cable meant to be plugged into your DSLR camera: To use with Zoom, you need the Rode VXLR Adapter and you can plug the Rode Video Mic Pro into any XLR interface:

I can't get it any volume using my Rode SmartLav + with this method. It just doesn't record. Can't figure it out.
