Your realism comments actually are very true, I'm stuck trying to develop a cartoony style that's comfortable for me, and I keep getting told to go to realism, but it doesn't work for me. Kudos for the realization, and letting everyone know!! Btw, great art. It's unique, and I love unique, it's a sign that you're you

I spent such a long time trying to "find my style" and was so upset because I didn't know how to haha. But when I stopped looking for it and just experimented with different mediums etc, it just came naturally. I didn't believe I had a style, but when I look at my art I can tell that I draw and colour in a certain way, and isn't that just it? It's constantly developing into something I'm loving more and more! I think if you just draw a lot you will discover what you like and how to do it, and it will feel like "you". :)

I came across your channel, and started to 'Copy' your artwork, but obviously I gave credit to you. When I flick through my sketchbook, I realise that my drawings were different to your drawings. And then I realised that if 5 people draw the same drawing, each piece of art will be different. People see art in different ways. And then I started drawing things without a reference. And WAHLAH! I have my own art style!

I found my art style in a pretty weird way. I went on the computer one day and I cropped every face I could from my favorite artists, people who had art styles that I really loved, and printed them out and glued them down to a piece of paper. After that, I just sat there and stared at the different faces, and thought about what I liked from each one. What it how the eyes were shaped, or how they did their line work? And I even thought about some things I didn't like, and really didn't want my style to include. I made a list of all the things I liked and then smashed them together into one unique art style that was my own. It took a while to perfect the art style even after that, but I'm pretty happy with where my style is now.

Hehe thank you for making this video
Okay right now I am taking more cartoony styles because I kinda grew tired of anime these days. Plus I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cartoons of late 2010's (like SU and SVTFOE). Bits of anime style are still present in my works (since I started with that too) but lately I am more known to have a more kiddy style. And I am having more fun drawing it~!

I love how simplistic yes intricate this tutorial is! I have been struggling to find a style I'm comfortable with, and especially considering the fact that I'm on the borderline for choosing a cartoon style or realistic (because they're both so amazing) I think I could totally follow your advice and just go with whatever I feel most comfortable with. You have amazing art skills and thanks so much for this video.

This was a really neat video! I also always think it' super interesting to find out how other people find their art style! I found mine by watching your videos and drawing Disney & Dreamworks characters.

My opinion is that it is better not to be so caught up in finding your style, but to just keep studying, drawing, and learning. I think some people get locked in to one style, and then they miss out on learning new things, because they are reluctant to try anything different.
