Simple Chain Saw SawBuck Using Logs

Показать описание
We just got a tiny little wood stove for our tiny house. The problem is that I had been planning on heating our tiny home with wood and cut a mess of fire wood for normal stove size.
But now this little wood stove uses just 8 inch log sizes with a maximum of 4 to 5 inches thick.
This means that I have to cut all my fire wood in half.
I left my homemade sawbuck behind in New York during our move to Michigan.
I came up with this cool and functional chainsaw sawbuck using logs.
By setting up a pair of logs in parallel I now have a notched form to hold the log I want to cut.
I set up some logs at each corner, standing up, to prevent things from moving around on me.
I used already cut logs to give myself a notch to cut through but you could use 8 or 12 foot logs just the same. After your first cut you already have a notch.
This idea can also be used in the field to quickly set up a form for cutting a mess of fire wood without the risk of hitting your chainsaw chain in the dirt.
