Israel’s innovations in water-conserving technologies and water augmentation have intrigued Joel Ferry, who led a delegation from Utah to the desert nation 7,000 miles away in March.

"Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does."

― Margaret Atwood, The Penelopiad

150 USD water bill per month in Israel is completely off. We are a family of 4 and our bill is approximately 40 USD per month

It would be great too if Utah had an ocean to desalinate. Let’s see how land locked areas compare instead of one that gets their water from the ocean.

Being a high desert, Utah needs to follow cities in Arizona and New Mexico and fully implement desert landscaping and get away from watering grass or trying to keep grass green. I think that would be a great start.

Has Israel imported millions of Hispanics and third world? Why not learn from Israel's immigration policies and their big 500 mile wall?

Better want to use deep water wells and desal. Been there and done that for 6 years for the Palestinians. The Israelis used their position in the world to take the best places to drill and the best aquifers. That being said, they have done very well with what they had.

Middle East using Desal for decades. USA needs to plan for the future vs just praying for water. As public water becomes more polluted and EPA allowing limits of pollutants vs zero, desal can clean up pollutants at same time. California becoming more proactive vs reactive with building desal plants

When Utah regulates lawns in churches and temples as well as city, county, and state and federal buildings...that's a great place to start. Then stop giving water to saudia Arabia while charging Utahns. Kennecott Copper, oil refineries and mining also to blame. Too much development for the resources.

desalination, despite its costs of operation, offers the greatest source of clean water for home and industrial use. Pricing of water can be discussed to reflect overall costs of provision of water. Talk to california to allow 7 x 2 meters diameter pipes to draw water from the pacific ocean, workable if this piping is made possible, same US people right?

I didn't know that Utah is located on the ocean shores.

We will need to find a way to ship water underground across the US from east to west.

This is hilarious lets try and make a system work that isn't even close to our own topography! How about look at how India changed their water crisis in one monsoon season for 40 million people.

Look at Las Vegas, you will not see any running water on the street 90% of the water is recycled, very little waist,

if people would learn how to wash dishes here in America we could save a billion gallons per day! hmm reuse the water? What a novel idea. How much pollutants water the crops now?

will Utah people be in arms when they are asked to reduce, reuse and conserve water, like the French barbarians causing havoc in Paris?
