My initial impressions of the Seagull 1963 chronograph. Hard to beat for under $200.

Lol. Watching this now and hearing you mention COVID as though it was just some China problem back then…

Its a cool and interesting watch. Chinese movement or not that is a seriously good looking movement and you cant really find an mechanical chronograph any where else for the same price

I've been calling it "Kung Flu" or "Beer Flu" myself. But glad you got the watch eventually. Looks like a nice watch. Maybe you could see how it does with respect to quality and durability and do a follow up video. I'd be interested in that.

Love the look of these but I'm concerned because there seems to be so many variables. So many minute differences. There seems to be a real range in quality and it feels like a real crap shoot the more I read. The unnecessary thickness is what is really hanging me up on these. Wish these were closer to 12mm thick and had 20mm lugs. Baltic manages to make a bicompax chrono with the same movement at 13.3mm. How is yours holding up? How's the time keeping? Where did you get this particular one?

Nice review, thanks. I got mine from ebay 2 days ago, and I am delighted with it, with its lovely dial and functionality, and its history. However, it stopped a couple of times, but is now going well, teething troubles of a new watch I suppose.

I recommend using nail polish remover to get rid of the blue paint, works like a charm!

Chemically blued, not painted hands.
Mine is accurate to within 2 seconds per day, with a 2 day power reserve.
I wear my nato different to you with only one layer between the watch and my wrist. Look it up on YouTube.
There is the 1962 plan B model out now with lume on the hands and a different font and circular engraving on the dial.
I wear mine on a brown Rios leather strap.
