From a fellow runner who struggles with digestion lol It took me a while to figure out what worked for me too. I am similar to what you described as I need to have fully digested what I ate so I always have to wait 2hrs after I ate to go out. However, if you want to go first thing in the morning and you're looking for quick energy, try a spoonful of honey maybe like 10-15 minutes before going out :)
