Growing up in the late 80s and early 90s in New Jersey as a Brown kid, all my friends were either Black or Latino, or Italian. The one guy who we idolized and wanted to be like was Ric Flair. His skin color didn't matter because he was real, raw, and flashy. He didn't apologize for his greatness and we loved him for it !

I'm almost 50 y/o. When I was in 1st grade my dad use to take me right up the street every other weekend to see Wrestling At The Chase. Ric Flair was one of the big stars back then!!! All the wrestlers use to hangout at this little coffee shop right by the tv station and I would see Rick there and say hi all the time. Decades and Decades later the Nature Boy is still doing his thing!! Beautiful!!!
