Neymar still scored the most goals for Brazil in every tournament they played in excluding the last World Cup where he was injured and missed all group stage games and played with an injury against Korea and Croatia.

I get he didn't have the fortunate luck to win a major trophy with his country, but it's hardly on him where he delivered in every game he played for them (again, maybe except the game against Belgium in the World Cup 2018). He was always their best player, not just goals and assists, almost every attack starts with him and he is a machine for creating chances (similar level to Messi and KDB).

People want to hate him, but Neymar is one of the most underappreciated players of all time. Goals galore, a lot of assists for clubs and country, skills and unforgettable moments in his career and because of his character (diving, discipline) it seems all of the phenomenal achievements of his are forgotten.

Let me caveat that with all of this, despite Neymar being exceptional (Vini and Rodrygo are not even close to him), you can't expect him to continue be their best player. It's clear he doesn't want to play competitive football after he moved to Saudi and with the lifestyle he has, age is already caught up with him, not to mention how many injuries and few long term he had in the last years. It won't be the same Neymar, it's time for someone else to step up their game for Brazil. He can still be useful, I guess, but if they will solely rely on him again, it will be stupidity.

The problem with our team is that there isnt a single brasilian coach in the world with the crediatials and knowledge capable of doing anything with the national team .

Hard to watch this Brazilian side that is praying for Neymar to come back into the mix and save them. That is just wild. He may never be the same with his injuries and age, but yet, that is all the hope they have.

Throwing the youngsters in the fray may prove to bear fruits in the future, but right now...just sad to watch.
