Mukesh Ambani overtakes Gautam Adani to become richest Indian

Amid Hindenburg vs Adani showdown, Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani has once again become India’s richest man. Mukesh Ambani overtook Adani Group’s Gautam Adani with a substantial margin, according to Forbes. As per Forbes Real-time billionaire list for 2023, Mukesh Ambani’s net worth stood at USD 84.3 billion. After retaining third-spot for weeks, Adani’s ranking slipped drastically after the Hindenburg report. Ambani overtook Adani after Ambani's assets went up 0.19 pc with an increase of wealth by USD 164 mn. Gautam Adani’s assets went down by 4.62 per cent with the industrialist’s wealth pegged at USD 84.1 bn. The data was released as per the real-time tracker of Forbes at 5 pm EST on January 31. Adani, who figured among top three billionaires in the world, has dropped to number 10 just below Mukesh Ambani. However, the value of Adani Group’s continues to fluctuate as its FPO pulled through. If there is a gain in Adani’s stock, it is expected Adani’s personal wealth will rise too.
