Despite its initial slow response to the coronavirus threat, Indonesia has been ramping up its fight against COVID-19. But there's concern that the move may have come too little too late. Are the Indonesian healthcare facilities well equipped to deal with the rising number of infected cases? And can the authorities control the spread of the virus across its vast archipelago?

I've seen a lot of video of Indonesian ignoring social distancing and disrespectful towards the police, soldier and medical worker. Soo yeah, ignorant is more dangerous than the virus.

Problems:
- Not enough testing
- Confused government (releasing prisoners during the pandemic, like wtf)
- People who don't care with the virus (attending the oldest McDonald's closing party, flocking to malls to buy new clothes for Eid, insisted to go back to their hometown, etc)

Indonesian here. The main problem is not the lack of medical services but indonesian underestimate the virus.

One example is, one is more afraid not to have new clothes for idul fitri rather than contracting the virus. Plus the goverment give poor people aid (aka money) and the use the money to buy more clothes

Keep fighting Indonesia, remember when Malaysia have the highest cases of Covid19 and now we're in the recovery phase? I believe Indonesia also can win against this pandemic. Keep holding on, support the government efforts and support the frontliners. We can win this battle. 💪🏻

Both the government and the citizens here in Indonesia really do a bad job in handling the pandemic, the government gives no exact rules and actions which confuses the citizens, and also the citizens are very hard to cooperate with... Indonesia is the only country in SEA that still have an uptrend curve in daily cases, yet our government wants to implement a new normal on 8th of June( I think it’s like implementing herd immunity), yup you can say Indonesia did a bad job in handling the pandemic

Indonesia Govt need to change its policy. Spending more on Education and Healthcare, less spending on Military and Tourism.
Educate and provide better education and Healthcare to the people is a essential for better society. Focus is not only for Java but the rest of Indonesia. Level of education and Healthcare in others provinces are worse than Java.

NZ here. sometimes i need to really ask this ? do you really think you gonna completely eradicate the virus that's been shown it will become endemic ?
2 weeks lockdown = virus gone . simple right? . what if it doesnt? what happen when the virus comes back ?another lockdown (south korea just close down it's night club cuz a new infection detected)? no vaccine + so few in population who become immune =what are you gonna do ? do you really think you can hit the break twice? we are doing so successfull here in NZ that there are very view people who are actually becomes immune and we don't have surge capacity to handle a surge. if there's a second wave = we're screwed here NZ . our best equip hospital are only in aukland and comparing Chinese Communist country that can just forced people and vietnam ? dang so many people still believe the chinese numbers you should compare Indonesia with The US with comparable population . how many testing do you need ?US need to ramp up testing capacity up to 35 million test per week. do you have that many people to do the test that massive? lets be perfectly honest here there are no best solution to handle this pandemic . we should look at how Taiwan or Japanese but their population is much lower and they have a high trust with their government. UK, US, some country not so much unless your government are willing to forced it's people. at the end we are are gonna end up adopting the swedish model by default
Oh btw China just update their death up to 50 % and in reality their number if death is WAY Higher than what they are reporting
