This was EXTREMELY informative. I've learned so much about the economy in the past 18 months from YouTube than any class I've sat in or anything I've watched on the finance channels.

A stock market sector is a group of stocks that have a lot in common with each other, usually because they are in similar industries

Very informative and well presented! Exactly what I was looking for.
The two-category splitting seems the most common by far (cyclical vs non cyclical).
Some rare cases add a third category: sensitive as you put it, or growth... the more I think about it, the more I bend toward two-category splitting as by definition, cyclical means sensitive 😊😊

Interesting that McDonald's is considered discretionary while coca cola and Walgreens is considered a staple! Some families survive on McDonald's

Another great video 👍 The resiliency, tranquility and consistency of real estate is exactly why I think it helps so much in a Max FI portfolio for keeping withdrawal rates up during downturns. Same goes for gold with it's dependability. That's why I've got 10% REITS and 20% Gold in my portfolio. I think it will just really help keep things pretty reliable in the long run without huge drawdowns.

Side note: I do have to gripe a tiny bit about something in the video. For viewers (like myself) watching on a smartphone, the charts are really small and very hard to read. Just my 2¢

Interesting, tranquility is where most should invest long term from what I am understanding here, gains would be slow but worth it. Maybe offset these gains with a short term position in the information technology and consumer discretionary industries ?

I would have liked these to have all of these compared to an S&P 500 index fund for reference.

I decided to buy all the sectors (except for Materials) separately through index funds and see if it works better than buying the S&P 500 and/or Nasdaq.

Long-term, I think S&P 500/Nasdaq would be better, but short-term I think the separate indexes are better because some will outperform while others don't.
