WIKITONGUES: Yernur speaking Kazakh

This video was recorded by Teddy Nee in Taiwan. Kazakh, also known as Qazaqsha or Kazakhstani, is the official language of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh people have their origins in medieval Turkic and Mongol tribes, with their name likely first appearing in the 15th or 16th centuries. The Kazakhs have been nomads throughout their history, based primarily in the steppes of northern China and parts of Central Asia, as well as occupying the Uralic Mountains. The founding of the Kazakh Khanate, which lasted from 1456 to 1848, had a great influence on the identity of the collective Kazakh tribes. The Kazakh language is closely related to the Turkic languages Nogai, Kyrgyz, and Karakalpak and, like each of these is agglutinative, employs vowel harmony, and generally freer word order. It is primarily spoken in Kazakhstan, but is a significant minority language in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang, China (nearly two million speakers) and Bayan-Öglii Province of Mongolia, and spoken in Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, and Germany.

I’m Korean. For me, Kazakh language sounds similar to Korean, especially the accent, and the vowel that sounds very much like Korean ‘eu’. But it does sound a bit exotic whenever he trills his r, or pronounce ‘l’ like in English. Overall, I felt like Kazakh language is mixture of East Asian languages and Western languages(maybe russian or arabic?). Its very interesting!

Beautiful language. The effects of Turkic and even eastern languages yield such an interesting sound and diction. Thank you, sir.

He speaks very good Qazaq, especially in regards to pronounciation. His pronounciation isn‘t tainted by the Russian language and/or by the phonemics of the Cyrillic alphabet, that - sadly - you often see in other videos and especially in Qazaqstan news stations. His pronounciation is crisp and clear. All in all, a great and valuable source for learners. Thank you for uploading.

I'm Polish and after just two weeks of intense Kazakh study, I managed to understand the basic info described by the individual, who CLEARLY said he was in Taiwan, and actually noticed him applying the special locative case features of -да/-де/-та to the end of nouns to mark enclosed movement. Kazakh is one of my favourite Turkic languages, alongside Turkish! Greetings from Poland, fellow Turks and Kazakhs!🇵🇱❤️🇹🇷🇰🇿
