also adding as a black artist drawing black people our upper lips are darker than our skin! there’s more melanin there so they won’t both be pink, the upper will be dark and the lower will be slightly pink ❤

Great tutorial on painting wet, juicy lips. One tip is to think in three dimensions and buy a skull replica like Sam's. Humans have a muzzle that projects out (subtle compared with a dog or cat) which means the lips wrap around our maxilla and mandible. If you're a lip person, then go for the saturated lips like Sam's. This is a preference and there is no right or wrong. I tend to use a more desaturated color for the lips.
