This documentary was a piece of art. I know all about Willowbrook. My aunt lived in a state institution in PA. This documentary really speaks on the importance of following dreams, living a life well-lived, and the systematic BS that keeps people from having the same opportunities that people without disabilities have. I am a disability advocate in Alberta Canada. we have the same issue here in Alberta and many others- deep legislated poverty, marriage and relationship inequality, unsafe and inaccessible housing, no accessible housing legislation- deep deep poverty and more and more disabled people applying for medically assisted dying. I would love to have a premier of this movie in Edmonton alberta, followed by a panel discussion and either a petition or steps people can take to sign on to a human rights complaint. I am a serious advocate and truly looking for ideas here. I would love to know how to access the movie to support this action. Incredible people and the story here is so very important! I am grateful for Patrice and her partner and the makers of this movie!

Just finished it. This is truly Emmy worthy - and so inspiring. We as a country should b proud to pass a law that upholds human dignity n luv in the disabled citizens communities (sorry if I’m using wrong words here). But yes the SSI marriage penalty law needs to end. Look where we throw away tax money. This on the other hand is worthy of how we should spend tax payer funds in my view.
