Bret vs RVD would have been a great match.

If I was a wrestler I would have to say Bret is one guy I'd want to wrestle. RVD is a legend too.

Bret Hart could make a ham sandwich look like a true contender

Mick Foley tells a story of the 1st time he wrestled Terry Funk. Terry was a hero of his and be always wondered how he made his punches look so real. Then he wrestled him and found out it was because they were real. Terry laid it into people. 😆

Bret never seemed to have a problem with people working snug as long as you were still safe. Like don't full force kick people in the head.

Bret was a selfless wrestler seemingly. He refused to job out a young Rock and gave him a lot of offense. He worked with Stone Cold when Austin came in. I heard he also helped the new guys. You have to credit that when you had guys like Michaels wanting to job Rock out and not wanting to put over Stone Cold. It made a bigger fan of Bret's than I was as a kid. Bret was my favorite growing up and now reading about how he was made me respect him more.

Bret could've taken a door off the hinges, thrown it into the ring, put on a 20-minute match with it, and get the door over.

Bret worked snug too, just ask Austin. Bret would take the rough and tumble that comes with protecting business and working tight but he always ensured both himself and his opponent were fit to work the next night.

They’re two in ring genuineness. I’m sure they’d have figured it out

Mature answer, as I immediately grimaced at the thought. I would have loved to see RVD vs. Vader at his best.

Bret is a guy that never injured anybody. He's a great rival to my boy sting. Much respect. I'm sure Bret and RVD would be good

Bret Hart can have a competitive match with a coloring book. Him and Rob would have had masterpiece after masterpiece. WWE had their chance to make this match a reality back in 1997 during the sporadic ECW invasions (which ironically were better than the garbage one from 2001).

It would of been a great match. Bret Hart could wrestle any style and grew up with a similar type of training in the dungeon. Bret's match with Hakushi in Philly is a good example. He knew how the fans were at the time in pro wrestling in that city. The match is on Bret's DVDs of his favorite matches.

Watch how clean Waltman's kicks land on Bret's face in the RAW match. He even talked about it on his podcast, how stiff they were. Bret came back at him with those savage uppercuts, probably the best I've ever seen. But at the end of the day the match was absolutely perfect and Bret never complained about it.

I can see three different matches. The most likely would be RVD coming in strong and Bret acting surprised and really selling the frustration of RVD getting the better of him.
I imagine Bret would be trying to keep him grounded and working the knee.
Maybe have RVD coming off the top rope, taking out Bret, but aggravating his knee, meaning he can't capitalise.
The finish would be close and they'd both come out looking like champions.

I gotta say RVD for me is definitely one of my favorites also that guy was always putting on a show. At this stage in his life and he can still do the things he did when he first started.

The more time passes the more people appreciate what bret did for the buisness. In my eyes he’s the GOAT.
