hey bro might be a dumb question but you didn’t have to unlock the ECU to do this right ? sorry i’m just new to the M340i platform

I had XHP installed on my M340i, and I was wondering about the transmission - it goes into sports mode when you flick it to the left, that’s obvious.
But I have a thing, it goes into sports mode when I flick down to go into “D” and when I flick it down once again, it goes into sports mode without me having to flick it to the left. I didn’t have this problem until I had the XHP installed.
So, I got tired of the flash and uninstalled it and the thing is that the transmission still goes into sport when I flick it down.
Do you know anything about this ? Or maybe this was actually intended and my car had this feature all along?
I checked this on an 8 series(same 8speed auto), doesn’t have it . Could you please check yours, maybe ask someone you know who also has an M340 idk, cause I don’t really want any software left in my car, I want my shit stock now lol
