The Red Wings have made another huge trade, this one IMO makes a lot more sense than the Hronek trade yesterday. If you guys enjoy this type of NHL content then be sure to subscribe to the channel if you are new!

Boston gearing up. And they also signed Pasta, next Bruins legend in the making it seems.

I think Yzerman may have looked at how stacked the East is (especially the Atlantic Division) and thought that the Wings weren't close enough to turn the corner. This would explain why they chose to sell high on Hronek and not to resign Bertuzzi and to trade him too. With their other picks, the Wings will draft 5 times within the first 50 picks of this year's draft. The 2023 draft could become a huge part of their future successes.

The Bruins are straight up just trolling the entire league at this point. They were already miles ahead of every other team before they acquired Orlov, Hathaway and Bertuzzi. Now they're in an entirely different universe.

As a Boston fan, this is insane, our 3rd line for playoffs will be
Hall - Coyle - Bertuzzi which is literally a pretty high end 2nd line, Bertuzzi 100% will become a big fan favorite real quick

Even with all the super stars Boston has,
Bertuzzi will be an overnight fan favorite.
I now have a team to root for this playoff.
Good luck, Tyler!!

I want to feel angry about these trades and subsequently no returns yet.. but I decided to research and found the big picture so far.
This is what Yzerman has done so far.

-8 of the top 100 players U23
-5 1st round picks in the next 3 drafts
-26 picks total in that span

And it seems this may not even be over yet.
I was shocked at some of these things but again.. Big Picture.
It looks.... promising.

Sounds like another great "all-in" depth move for my Bs, thanks for the insight; always good to hear from someone who is somewhat biased in basically the opposite way as I am

As a Wings fan, I can't help but feel that our push for the playoffs is done. Especially after seeing how we played against a super physical team like Ottawa, I don't think we would last long in the playoffs.

That's why I think Yzerman is starting to sell for more draft picks. I am really happy with the progress the Wings have made with Lalonde as head coach, but still sad to see us fall short.

it's perfect... Boston is all in for the cup THIS year and Stevie knows how to make that draft capital work...

As a Wings fan, this hurts, but like you said, it was more or less inevitable. I don’t love Boston at all but Bert does fit their style really well and I would love to see him lift the cup. Overall, not mad

i truly don’t know how to feel. yes with hronek and bertuzzi we’re getting high draft picks but this feels like a huge step backwards. larkin was incredibly emotional at today’s presser and trading these two away pretty much solidifies that the wings are out of the playoff hunt.

Marchand Bertuzzi and Hathaway😂😂 THE most annoying playoff lineup for sure

I’m an Isles fan and Bertuzzi was one of my favorite players. Needless to say I’m upset.

Bertuzzi is the *perfect* Bruin… seeing him and Marchand terrorize the playoffs this year will be entertaining.

With that being said, as a Wings fan, I’m sad to see him go. He has the kind of play style and attitude that this team lacks, just ask Ottawa… But, he’s injury prone, and dating back to last season it appeared that his camp wanted a contract similar to Larkin, which absolutely couldn’t happen. Obviously the whole Covid thing was a major distraction as well that I’m sure Yzerman is happy to get away from.

Overall, my only criticism is that we didn’t trade him sooner, last season or before his injuries when his value was higher, but we were still able to grab future picks which we can either flip or hopefully hit on in the draft.

As a Bruins fan I know we are going to be a pain in the ass with Bertuzzi, Marchand, Frederick, Hathaway, Greer, and others that can really stir the pot

This day was a big and lovely day as a Bruins fan. Don Sweeney is making a good job recently and it is not a fleece like most Yzerman-deals are!

so sad man, i loved bert here in detroit so much. i hope yzerman can find a way to bring him back when were ready to contend for a cup

Pierre Lebrun tweeted earlier "Contract talks never really went anywhere between Bertuzzi's camp and the Red Wings, the last contract conversation was back in December. So Bertuzzi knew this was a possibility." Sad to see Bert go but it doesn't sound like he would have been resigning in Detroit anyway. Whether or not Yzerman uses that 1st to draft a player or to package it for a player, another 1st and a 4th, good return.
