Love flops was well done though tbh.
The plot twist is hinted towards the beginning in a few ways, Aoi’s eyes do a very cybernetic looking thing when she gains her memory, yoshino comments on how it’s strange all the girls show up at the same time, the absence of his mother is never brought up, the bedrooms just appearing without any further comment or explanation, and part where the rabbit is rushing him and saying he’ll be late even though he has a lot of extra time, because it’s actually making sure he’s in the right spot for the predetermined events. The girls act crazy at first but overtime of interacting with him mellow out and begin to love more normally and each one has their own weird glitch eye moment where afterwards their personality is more realistic but also more reserved and distant since they now know the truth. The love the guy but they know they don’t exist and that hurts them. The part where he talks to Aoi how she’s the only one who never evades his privacy and the fact that her personality is the only normal one for most of the show and her mother like nature to the others all stems on her being so intertwined with Ai. Also the fact that Ai’s name is literally A.I. spells it out. The shows tonal/genre shift and absurdity hitting a crescendo before it all breaks is surprisingly perfect. And then the last couple of episodes, oof.

I avoided this show since it came out for while because I thought it’d be a generic echii harem and I haven’t been in the mood for that sort of thing and boy am I glad I saw a post saying it’s sad. I was like wait what? How is a harem sad.

I cryed for the Last 6 episodes. I watched the entire series in one sitting at the midnight. (I dont sleep). I didnt know its possible to make something so depressing.

Nah the anime is good imo, i only watched because of the dark theme but i liked the characters and story the same amount. A 8/10 to me.
