Madoka Magica - Symposium Magarum Cover 【Extended Version】

Cover de "Symposium Magarum" del anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Siempre me gustó mucho esta canción, el momento en el que aparece Oktavia Von Seckendorff ante Madoka y Kyoko, lo que representa esta bruja, la motivación con la que llegan a intentar hacer algo imposible esperando un milagro, el desenlace. Siempre sentí que esta pieza escrita por Yuki Kajiura representa muy bien todos esos sentimientos que debe expresar la situación.
Una cosa que siempre me llamó la atención, es que en general plasma la desesperación en la que cayó Sayaka muy bien, pero hay cierta parte, un fragmento (por el solo del primer violín), que siento que suena tan tierno y emotivo, es como si los sentimientos originales que tenía Sayaka aún estuvieran cautivos allí dentro intentando salir o tratando de dar una señal que tal vez aún sigue ahí, y justo luego de eso, los acordes empiezan a producir cada vez más tensión, llegando a una desesperación explosiva, como recordando en lo que están, volviendo a la realidad, gritando que en eso se convirtió y que ya no hay vuelta atrás.
Tal vez lo sobrepensé demasiado, no lo se jeje, pero esa fue la razón por la que en este arreglo que hice traté de resaltar más esas parte, intenté darle más "ternura" a la parte del solo de violín agregando sonidos de glockenspiel y otros de los sintes que uso que suenan como a pequeñas campanitas. Así como traté de resaltar más la desesperación con el sonido de órgano y tiñiendo la pantalla de colores rojizos.
En cuanto a lo visual, el dibujo es obra de @ruthjsk , ella la hizo capa por capa y luego yo animé cada pieza. El escenario lo hice yo con Blender, excepto por las butacas y la orquesta (los familiares de la bruja) que los realizó Ruth.
Hice varias cosas más, pero la descripción ya me está quedando muy larga, solo espero que disfruten el video 😊

Cover of "Symposium Magarum" from the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I always liked this song too much, the moment when Oktavia Von Seckendorff appears in front of Madoka and Kyoko, what this witch represents, the motivation with which they get to try to do something impossible hoping for a miracle, the outcome. I always felt that this piece written by Yuki Kajiura represents very well all those feelings that the situation must express.
One thing that always caught my attention, is that this song captures all desperation that Sayaka fell inside of her very well, but there is a certain part, a fragment (the first violin solo), that I feel sounds so tender and emotional, it's as if the original feelings that Sayaka had were still captive in there trying to get out or trying to give a sign that maybe it's still there, and right after that, the chords start to produce more and more tension, reaching an explosive desperation, like remembering what they're in, coming back to reality, screaming that's what she became and there's no turning back now.
Maybe I overthought it too much, I don't know hehe, but that was the main reason why in this arrangement I tried to highlight more those parts, I tried to give more "tenderness" to the violin solo part by adding glockenspiel sounds and other synths I use that sound like little bells. I also tried to emphasize the desperation with the organ sound and dyeing the screen with reddish colors.
About the visual part, the drawing is @ruthjsk work, she did it layer by layer and then I animated each piece. The scenery was done by me with Blender, except for the seats and the orchestra (Oktavia's familiars) which were done by Ruth.
I did several things, but the description is getting too long, I just hope you enjoy the video 😊

It’s basically canon that this actually plays in the labyrinth and isn’t just anime background music, and it’s also stated that the music is meant to drive those who listen to it for too long insane (in the familiar descriptions) so honestly this cover sounding more I guess chaotic I think adds to that.

Its veterans day and this anime got me through the psyche ward, depression, suicide attempts, death of acquaintances and every character was impactful but in the army i wanted to be like Mami but im the end I was Sayaka the soldier that was in for the best of reasons but then realized my wishes and aspirations were all for not the thing i loved did not reciprocate my thoughts or feelings.

Ironically enough, this sounds somehow more calmer and put together than the original. Something about the high shrieking of the strings in the original made it sound much more chaotic. Not that this is bad by any means, not at all! If anything it sounds more like this witch has had more time for her emotions to temper from a heartbroken cry to an angry roar.
