VIA EGNATIA RUN – Sunday May 12 2019

The half marathon ‘’VIA EGNATIA RUN’’ (21,1 km), certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races-AIMS, will take place on Sunday May 12 2019 in Αlexandroupolis. Runners from Greece and foreign countries are going to run for the 4th time on ‘’the footsteps’’ of history and ancient Via Egnatia. The termination of road race is NOMARCHEIO in Alexandroupolis. At the same time, there will take place the public race-power walking (5,000 m-certified by AIMS), as well as kids race (800 m) and race for People with disabilities (800 m).
The race titled ‘’VIA EGNATIA RUN’’ is a sport event organized by the Regional Unit of Evros – Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in support of the Association of Hellenic Gymnastic Sports Associations (SEGAS). The ‘’VIA EGNATIA RUN’’ aims to cross the ancient Via Egnatia road and through sport to approach the path which associated Constinopole with Rome about commercially, economically and culturally. This road joined and brought together the citizens in the past and in this way can lead us in the future.
